What is the difference between a surgical mask and a procedure mask?
Procedural are roughly identical to surgical masks, but are not sterile. They come in three levels of protection called ASTM. When worn snugly with zero gaps between face and outside air: Level 1 is not meant for fluid blocking and has 95% efficacy against bacterial spread.

Is a surgical mask an N95 respirator?

No. Surgical masks do not have the same protection level as particulate respirators like NIOSH-approved N95 respirators. Surgical masks provide barrier protection against droplets including large respiratory particles.
